The Company will

  • Devise effective stock control methods to reduce repeat journeys to customers to deliver out of stock goods.
  • Incentivise customers to place less frequent orders to reduce the impact of travelling.
  • Train its staff and monitor their error rates to reduce the number of repeat journeys to customers as a result of our errors.
  • Ensure all visits from suppliers and to customers are purposeful to reduce the impact of travelling
  • Encourage electronic links with its suppliers and customers to reduce paper consumption
  • Operate a selective purchasing policy and good housekeeping to minimise waste of resources.
  • Advocate the reuse or recycling of items in order to minimise disposal.
  • Purchase replacement vehicles that use the latest technology to reduce to a minimum any harmful effects caused to the environment by the vehicle during its life and its disposal.
  • Reduce heating and lighting within the building to the minimum acceptable level thereby conserving energy.

External Communication

  • Powell Office Equipment will encourage its suppliers, employees and contractors to have respect for the environment and to consider their own environmental policy.
  • Powell Office Equipment will promote to its customers the positive effect that improved environmental performance has had on its own business and hope to lead by example.
